BRS Working President KT Rama Rao on Monday confirmed that he had received a notice from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection with the Formula E race case, and has been asked to appear before the agency on May 28.
In a post on X, KTR stated that while he would cooperate fully with the authorities as a law-abiding citizen, he is currently scheduled to travel abroad and has informed the ACB in writing about the same.
“As I had planned to leave for the UK and the US for events arranged much in advance, I will appear before them the moment I come back,” he wrote.
KTR described the case as “nothing but pure political harassment,” alleging that the Congress government is using the ACB to target him.
He did not mince words in criticising Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of resorting to vendetta politics.
“I should appreciate Revanth Reddy for his thirst for political vendetta and the way he swings in any direction without any scruples, to achieve the same,” he said.
He also drew attention to the recent Enforcement Directorate charge sheet in the National Herald case, where Revanth Reddy’s name was reportedly mentioned.
KTR said that while the Chief Minister was named in a money laundering case just 48 hours ago, he was seen meeting Prime Minister Modi and senior BJP leaders the very next day.
“Not a word against Revanth Reddy from even a single BJP leader for his involvement in the money laundering case,” he wrote.
KTR said the ACB notice served to him a day after these developments confirmed his suspicions of a political conspiracy. “Well! He may fail as an administrator or leader, and even as a human being. But he is proving himself at cheap vendetta politics,” he added.
Concluding, KTR said the Congress Government remains insecure about BRS’s presence in Telangana politics. “I know the BRS frightens him. So! Keep trying,” he said, signing off with “Jai Telangana.”
The Formula E race case pertains to alleged procedural lapses and irregularities during the organisation of the international race held in Hyderabad during BRS rule.
