BRS Working President KTR and other senior BRS leaders visited the Osmania General Hospital (OGH) to meet ASHA workers injured in the police action.
Highlighting the critical role ASHA workers played during the COVID-19 pandemic, KTR condemned the brutal attack by policemen on women protesters who were simply demanding job security and salary increments.
He criticised the ACP’s action and asked whether his ego led to the attack. “The Home Department is under his watch. Is there any law and order in this state? Does this government have any shame?” KTR said and added that Monday’s incident was nothing short of a “Dusshasana episode.”
KTR said that the BRS would not let this injustice go unchecked. “We will file complaints with the Women’s Commission and, if necessary, take it to the National Human Rights Commission. ASHA workers must be given the respect and honorarium they deserve. We will raise this in the Assembly,” he stated.
He said that if adequate treatment is not provided to the injured ASHA workers at the Osmania General Hospital, the BRS will ensure that private medical care is arranged for them.
