Ahead of the BRS’ constituency-level meetings being held across Telangana on April 25, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao held a teleconference with party leaders to discuss the agenda and laid down a detailed plan to make the meetings a grand success.
Around four lakh BRS activists from village to constituency level will attend the meetings. Around 3,000 to 3,500 BRS activists will attend the meeting in every constituency. The meets will be useful to raise awareness about BRS’s schemes implemented in the last nine years so that BRS cadres can inform the public.
KTR said the constituency-level meetings, which are being held for the first time, will serve as a platform to sound the bugle for Assembly elections.
During the teleconference, KTR gave suggestions and instructions stating that the party will propose and discuss six political resolutions on issues like agriculture, welfare, palle pragathi-pattana pragathi, education-employment, the BJP’s failures and local issues.
He said that the first resolution should be framed integrating agriculture, electricity and irrigation projects. Through this, he said the progress achieved in farming and progress achieved through the State government’s agriculture programmes, and irrigation projects should be discussed.
Along with Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima schemes which became role models for the entire country, the Centre’s anti-farmer policies should also be discussed, KTR said.
Speaking about the second resolution which focuses on welfare, KTR emphasised the need to discuss the schemes implemented by the government for individuals across different age groups. The resolution will cover the impact of these schemes on different groups, including women, the disabled, and those receiving Aasara pension for the elderly.
The third political resolution will focus on education and employment. It will provide detailed information on the government’s programmes on primary and higher education. The discussion will cover topics like the allocation of Rs 1.25 lakh per student through gurukul schools, the establishment and upgrading of gurukul schools to junior colleges, and the creation of jobs through TS-iPASS and the private sector.
The resolution will also address the Centre’s bias against Telangana, which has resulted in a lack of medical colleges, nursing colleges and higher education institutes.
KTR pointed out that if Prime Minister Modi had fulfilled his promise to create 2 crore jobs annually, there would have been no need for the BJP to hold an unemployment march. The resolution aims to raise awareness among youth about these issues.
The fourth resolution will focus on the transformation of villages and towns across the State through the Palle Pragathi-Pattana Pragathi initiatives.
KTR emphasized that the equal development of towns and villages was made possible under the leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. The resolution will provide a detailed discussion of these initiatives, KTR said.
The fifth resolution will focus on the failures of the BJP-led government under the leadership of Modi like the increase in the prices of essential commodities and skyrocketing fuel prices.
KTR emphasized that although the Centre is responsible for the unbearable price rise, people tend to blame the State government due to the BJP’s misinformation. He stressed that it is important to discuss the Centre’s role in the price hikes in detail.
He said that the sixth resolution should focus on local issues and urged its approval. He emphasized that the resolution should address the Centre’s inaction in sanctioning development projects to Telangana and its failure to respond to public demands.
