Industries Minister KT Rama Rao is touring the US to present the Telangana government’s accomplishments on a global platform.
KTR was invited to deliver the keynote address at the American Society of Civil Engineers – World Environmental & Water Resources Congress being held at Henderson in Nevada this month.
KTR was requested to speak about the world’s largest lift irrigation project, the Kaleshwaram Project, and Mission Bhagiratha, through which drinking water is provided to every household, and their role in transforming Telangana’s landscape.
He attended the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) conference held in Sacramento, USA, in 2017. During his keynote address then, he explained the major water projects taken up by the Telangana Government like Mission Bhagiratha.
Impressed by it, a team from ASCE toured Telangana in 2022. They went on a visit to Kaleshwaram Project and described it as a game changer in Telangana’s irrigation sector.
Impressed by the scale of the project, and the amazing speed at which the world’s largest lift irrigation project was completed, the ASCE invited KTR to present the Telangana government’s success story in the US.
KTR will speak about the socio-economic progress achieved in the State through the Kaleshwaram Project and Mission Bhagiratha.
KTR expressed joy at getting an opportunity to explain to the world the achievements of the Telangana government in the field of irrigation under the leadership of K. Chandrasekhar Rao. He said that Telangana, which was once stricken by drought, is now flourishing with lush green fields due to the vision of KCR.
During his US tour which will last till the end of the month, KTR will hold meetings with companies spread across five states. Some of the companies are likely to make investment announcements during the trip.
