Lack of power supply to Anganwadi centre incurs Collector’s wrath

District Collector M Venugopal Reddy has expressed anger over the officials for the lack of power supply to an Anganwadi centre and damaged flooring.

The Collector along with Tenali Sub-collector Gitanjali Sharma inspected the Anganwadi centre at Angalakuru village and the ‘Nadu-Nedu’ works being carried out at the government school.

The Collector noticed no power supply to the Anganwadi centre and damage to flooring at Challavaripalem and expressed anger over the CDPO.

The Collector directed the ICDS PD over the phone from there to initiate action against those who are responsible for the lack of facilities in the Anganwadi centre. He also ordered the officials to prepare proposals to repair the damaged flooring. He instructed the officials to take steps to restore the power supply to the Anganwadi centre.

Collector Venugopal Reddy inspected the Anganwadi Center in Angalakuduru North SC Colony and found out the details of children and pregnant women registered in the center and examined the registers.

He inquired with the staff and ANM about the implementation of Jagananna complete nutrition kits for pregnant women, special nutritional food, and medical services for those suffering from anemia. ANMs should collect complete details of pregnant women in the village and conduct regular medical examinations for them as prescribed, he told them adding that the ANMs should provide the details registered online to the Anganwadi centers and take steps to ensure that pregnant women get proper nutrition.

The supervisors of Anganwadi Centers and CDPOs should constantly monitor the management of the centers, besides providing proper nutritious food to the children, the Collector told them, stating that they should take steps to ensure that pregnant women take nutritious food every day, coordinate with the medical staff of the primary health center and provide better medical services to them.

The Collector also inspected the works being carried out under the Nadu-Nedu scheme at the primary school. The Collector saw the serving of mid-day meals to the state.
