Minister T Harish Rao said that efforts have been made to establish a Government Medical College in Yadadri. As part of this, a meeting was held with local public representatives and district officials by Health Minister Harish Rao at the Secretariat Conference Hall in Hyderabad on Friday.
On this occasion, it was decided to build a medical college on 20 acres of land in the vicinity of the Yadadri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy temple. To make the college accessible to the devotees without any shortage in the coming time with the medical college, the name of the college has also been decided as Sri Lakshminarasimhaswamy Vaidya College.
The meeting decided to hand over the final site selection responsibility to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao after identifying three sites for the construction of the college. The Minister ordered the officers to be ready for the foundation stone-laying programme immediately after the CM’s decision.
Local Aler Legislator and Government Whip Gongidi Sunita Mahender Reddy, Health Principal Secretary Rizvi, District Collector Pamela Satpathy, Director Medical Education Ramesh Reddy, R&B Chief Engineer Ganapathy Reddy, YTDA Vice-Chairman Kishan Rao were among those present.
