The makers revealed the big news on Tuesday, January 9, showcasing ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth as Moideen bhai, who will be seen making a special appearance in the film directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth. Lal Salaam will incidentally serve as a precursor to Rajinikanth, whose Vettaiyan is currently in production, while the actor is also scheduled to begin filming the tentatively titled Thalaivar 171 in the months ahead.
Lal Salaam is Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s big comeback to filmmaking after 3 (2012), Vai Raja Vai (2015), and the documentary Cinema Veeran (2017), and has Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead roles, with music composed by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman. Considering the film revolved around cricket, 1983 World Cup-winning captain and legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev will also be seen making a cameo appearance alongside Rajinikanth.
