The BJP activists on Wednesday staged protest on Rajiv Rahadari obstructing movement of vehicular traffic demanding that the State government allot land for establishing ESI hospital in Ramagundam.
Hundreds of BJP activists, led by party constituency in-charge Kandula Sandhya Rani, took part in the demonstration to register their protest against government not allotting the land.
Sandhya Rani, addressing the protestors, noted that Union government sanctioned Rs 100 crore for construction of an ESI Hospital at Ramagundam. However, the State government failed to allot land for the hospital. The present Congress regime is also following in the footsteps of the previous government, Sandhya Rani said.
Thousands of workers employed in NTPC, SCCL, RFCL, Kesoram cements and so on subscribe to the ESI facility, but they have no option except to go to ESI hospital in Hyderabad if they happened to get injured in industrial accidents or in the event of they become sick, she said expressing her agony.
In emergency cases, many patients have been dying en route to Hyderabad, she said.
She appealed to the local MLA to give up his negligent attitude before the hospital is transferred to elsewhere and see to it that the government allotted suitable land for the hospital.
Merugu Hanmantu Goud, JakkulaNarahari, Kondaparthi Sanjeev, Pidugu Krishna, Thota Kumara Swamy and others took part in the protest programme.
Later, they submitted a memorandum to Tahsildar here highlighting their demands.
