‘Land Titling Act will strip ownership rights’

Must read

Jana Sena chief K Pawan Kalyan has expressed concern over the Land Titling Act proposed by the YSRCP government, warning that it could strip away ownership rights to lands. He criticised the legislation as highly controversial, alleging that the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government aims to exploit it for land and resource grabbing.
Addressing a sizable election gathering near Pithapuram on Monday, Pawan Kalyan accused YSRCP leaders of exploiting potential loopholes in the Act to seize lands from the less fortunate. “Do we lose all rights to our land? Under this Act, the government seizes original land documents, leaving us with only photocopies,” he lamented. He also raised concerns about the fate of assigned lands under the proposed Act.
Urging people to oppose the legislation and thwart YSRCP in the upcoming elections, Pawan Kalyan predicted victory for the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance. He likened YSRCP to a banana peel, implying its fragility.
Promising to prioritise irrigation projects for agricultural sustainability if elected, Pawan Kalyan assured the crowd at Pithapuram. The event saw speeches by TDP’s SVSN Varma and Kakinada LS candidate Tangella Uday Srinivas.
At another rally in Ganapavaram, Eluru district, Pawan Kalyan questioned the priorities of the government, contrasting the presence of gambling clubs with the absence of educational opportunities like the ‘mega DSC’ notification.
He criticized the alleged financial mismanagement under the current administration, citing issues like dwindling school attendance and corruption scandals.
Pawan Kalyan highlighted corruption allegations, including the purported Rs 67 crore scam involving the purchase of ‘Chikki packets’ for women. He criticized Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership, highlighting his decade-long legal battles and accusing him of compromising law enforcement.
Assuring swift resolution of concerns like the CPS and drinking water shortages once in office, Pawan Kalyan emphasised the need for effective governance in the region, particularly in addressing basic needs despite its agricultural significance.
