Rajya Sabha member and national general secretary of YSRCP, V. Vijayasai Reddy, commented on the recent political landscape, suggesting that Telugu Desam chief Chandrababu Naidu seems to have recognised that this will be his final electoral battle, prompting him to initiate an expensive smear campaign.
Reddy expressed his opinion on Naidu’s peculiar character, which involves overwhelming people with emotions, comedy, sentiment, and tragedy.
At a meeting on Monday, the national general secretary of the YSRCP stated that TDP leaders are currently in a state of disorientation, grappling with various psychological problems.
According to Reddy, the developments thus far indicate that the defeat of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has already been accepted as an inevitable outcome. He further claimed that the mindless petty politics of N Chandrababu Naidu and his team regarding the volunteer system, which serves the people round the clock, is hastening the downfall of the TDP. People are well aware of all the announcements made by the TDP.
Reddy posed a question as to why the welfare initiatives promised by Chandrababu Naidu in the manifesto were not implemented during his five-year tenure in power.
He highlighted the fact that while the ruling YSRCP has been actively implementing welfare schemes, the TDP has been quick to criticize, labeling the state as becoming similar to Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Reddy also questioned the source of funds for the welfare schemes that the TDP would bring forward.
In his criticism of the opposition in Andhra Pradesh, Reddy claimed that they lack a comprehensive agenda for the state and are solely fixated on political symbolism, represented by their flags.
He stated that there is a distinct absence of focus on the development of Andhra Pradesh and a lack of well-planned policy ideas.
Reddy further asserted that the opposition’s sole agenda revolves around negative propaganda against Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, and if an election were to occur, they would engage in a game of musical chairs for the post of Chief Minister.
Reddy contended that the people are now aware that the animosity coming from TDP leaders and those lacking credibility will not be trusted, regardless of the intensity of their rhetoric. He emphasised that the people recognise that these part-time politicians achieve little by passionately expressing themselves three days a week and disappearing on weekends.
Furthermore, Reddy announced the government’s plans for beach tourism, with the intention to develop 363 beaches across twelve districts along the coast. He revealed that eleven teams, comprising representatives from the Fisheries University, Department of Tourism, and Fisheries, have already identified potential beach development sites along the coastline.
