Like in Bengal, BJPeying Telugu film stars

Must read

Banking on the latest tussle between the Congress admin and Telugu film stars, the BJP has jumped into the scene to win the support of prominent film stars to strengthen its base in both Telugu states and also to bag youth support. As it successfully lured Bengali film stars to counter Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal, in the Telugu states too, the BJP is reportedly making moves so as not to miss the bus. As the star power in West Bengal helped it enormously during elections and eroded the clout of Mamata, the BJP strongly thinks that the same technique can be used successfully in the Telugu states if it can secure the support of Telugu film stars

The BJP is ramping up efforts to court popular Tollywood stars to boost its influence in Telugu states. Sources reveal that the party is actively working to bring leading actors, including Allu Arjun and Nagarjuna, into its fold.
With its existing ally Pawan Kalyan already being projected as a prominent Hindutva face in South India, the party appears determined to expand its influence in the Telugu film industry.
A senior BJP leader from Telangana, who hails from the same community as Allu Arjun, is reportedly spearheading these efforts. This leader, who holds a prominent position in the party, has received the high command’s nod to intensify engagement with Tollywood stars. Efforts are also underway to attract other prominent Telugu actors into the BJP.
Meanwhile, the Congress has found itself at odds with the Telugu film industry. The demolition of the N-Convention Centre issue involving Nagarjuna has further strained the relationship between the party and Tollywood.
Apart from this, Konda Surekha’s comments against the Akkineni family have not gone down well with the industry. Speculations are rife that Nagarjuna is already in touch with BJP leaders.
The BJP’s focus on Tollywood is seen as part of a larger strategy to connect with youth and the Telugu population, leveraging the immense popularity of film stars. With the green signal from the high command, BJP’s moves in this direction are expected to gain momentum in the coming months.
