Hyderabad District Electoral Officer (DEO) Ronald Rose said that a total of 16 counting centres have been set up in the district for the counting of votes on June 4. There will be supervision to ensure that the counting of votes is done segment wise, the counting will start at 8 am and the counting of votes will start at the appointed time.
As part of the Lok Sabha elections, training classes on counting process were conducted for Micro Observers, Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants and AROs at Komaram Bheem Adivasi Building in Banjara Hills on Saturday. Where, he said that the regulations of the Election Commission of India (ECI) should be followed without any mistakes. On counting day, if any technical snag arises in the EVMs during the counting of votes, experts will be available and correct them.
Ronald Rose said that according to the ECI’s instructions, 14 tables are being set up in each hall for the counting of votes in all segments and the counting will be done round wise. Each table will have a micro observer, counting supervisor and counting assistant. The role of micro-observers is very crucial in the process of counting votes transparently and they have to give each round-wise report to the election observers.
He has clarified that mobile phones are not allowed inside the counting hall. Officials should have full understanding of all the matters related to the counting process.
The Hyderabad District Collector and Returning Officer Anudeep Durishetti explained to the officers the process related to VVPAT slips counting and postal ballot counting.
Secunderabad constituency Returning Officer Hemant Keshav Patil, Secunderabad Cantonment Joint CEO, Additional Commissioner (UBD) District Election Training Nodal, AROs, Micro Observers, Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants, and other officers participated in the meeting.
