Kadapa: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national general secretary Nara Lokesh has called for organisational reform and modernisation to keep the party relevant in a rapidly changing political landscape. Speaking at the Mahanadu convention in Kadapa on Sunday, Lokesh addressed thousands of party delegates and urged them to strengthen the TDP’s founding ideals while adapting to new aspirations.

“Times are changing, and so are the needs of the people. TDP must evolve while remaining rooted in its core values,” Lokesh said, as he reflected on the party’s 43-year journey since its formation by Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR).

He emphasised that TDP was born not out of caste or regional motives, but to protect the self-respect of Telugu people, support farmers and workers, and ensure basic amenities for the poor. “Whether in power or opposition, TDP has always stood by the people,” he said, citing the service rendered by leaders from party president N. Chandrababu Naidu to grassroots workers.
