Lokesh clarifies ‘Red Book’ policy

Minister for Education, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh has clarified the government’s stance on the ‘Red Book’ and defended its actions against opposition leaders accused of spreading false propaganda. The term ‘Red Book’ has sparked discussions in political circles, with some opposition leaders reportedly experiencing health concerns upon hearing it. Lokesh asserted that the ‘Red Book’ would apply only to those violating the law and not to political leaders merely for being in opposition.
Addressing the media after distributing permanent land pattas to a poor family in Mangalagiri, Lokesh emphasised that, unlike previous governments that followed the ‘Rajareddy Constitution,’ the current administration adheres to the ‘Ambedkar Constitution’ and prioritises transparency and fairness. He added that the government had neither locked the gates of opposition leaders’ homes nor fabricated false cases against them, as alleged.
Lokesh further highlighted that the state has provided Z-plus security to former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, exceeding the security given to Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, ensuring his freedom of movement and public interactions. He stated that, unlike the previous government, the present administration is committed to countering false propaganda. “The ‘Red Book’ is a direct response to misinformation being spread by certain quarters,” he remarked.
Discussing development initiatives, Lokesh pointed to the successful establishment of the first Reliance CBG plant in the Kanigiri constituency, providing employment opportunities in drought-prone areas. He accused the opposition of spreading a false narrative about such projects and attempting to derail development efforts.
On the issue of personal responsibility, Lokesh criticised Jagan Mohan Reddy, alleging that he failed to ensure justice for his own mother and sister, and asserted that such leaders should not lecture the government. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to public welfare, including addressing farmers’ issues, providing compensation, and ensuring fair prices for agricultural produce.
Lokesh also praised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for his visionary policies, which transformed Hyderabad into a global IT hub, creating opportunities for millions of young people. He assured that the government would continue to focus on sustainable development and welfare for all sections of society.
