Machilipatnam to witness massive industrial growth: Kollu Ravindra

Minister for Excise and Mines Kollu Ravindra has reaffirmed that industrial development in Machilipatnam will take place on a large scale shortly.
The Minister, accompanied by MP V Balashowry and APSRTC Chairman Konakalla Narayana Rao, laid the foundation stone for a community hall funded by Petronet, New Delhi, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative at Jewelers Park near Machilipatnam. The community hall is being built at a cost of Rs 1.98 crore.
Speaking at the event, Minister Ravindra stated that the Jewellery Park in the area would be developed, with former MP Chiranjeevi set to inaugurate it soon. “Steps are being taken to acquire 25 acres of land to expand the Jewellery Park with the support of the Central Government. I encourage traders to start their businesses here,” he said, adding that Machilipatnam would be developed into a model for industrial growth.
APSRTC Chairman Narayana Rao highlighted that over 500 gold-covering units are located in and around Machilipatnam, with Chilaka lapudi earning a reputation for its gold-covered jewellery. He praised the industry for providing thousands of jobs.
Narayana Rao also announced the construction of two Kalyana Mandapams at Pedakallepalli and Ghantasala, for Rs 1 crore each. These will be named after the famous cine lyricist late Veturi Sundara Rama Murthy and cine playback singer late Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao, respectively. MP V Balashowry also addressed the gathering. Industries GM Venkata Rao, APEWIDC EE Rayanna, and gold covering industry owners were among those present.
