MAD Square & Robinhood set for March 28 clash?

Must read

The 2023 film MAD, made on a modest budget with newcomers, became a sensational hit. Now, its much-awaited sequel, MAD Square, was initially set to release on March 29, 2024. However, the makers have now decided to prepone the release by a day, with the film hitting screens on March 28 instead.
The decision to advance the release was influenced by the fact that March 29 falls on Amavasya (New Moon Day), a date some distributors advised against for the film’s release. Taking their concerns into account, the makers opted for an earlier premiere, ensuring an extended weekend and holiday advantage that could boost the film’s box office prospects. Interestingly, MAD Square will now share its release date with Nithiin’s Robinhood. However, the producer clarified that there is no competition between the two films. “Since March 29 falls on Amavasya, our distributors felt it was best to advance the release, and we were happy to oblige. There was never any intention to cause a last-minute rescheduling. We wholeheartedly wish that March 28 will be a memorable day for Telugu cinema, with both Robinhood and MAD Square lighting up the big screens,” the producer stated on social media. MAD Square is produced by Harika Suryadevara and Sai Soujanya, with Kalyan Shankar directing. The film stars Narne Nithiin, Sangeeth Shoban and Ram Nithin in lead roles, while Reba John features in a special song.
