The AICC’s TG in-charge General Secretary, Meenakshi Natatarajan, who is coming to Hyderabad on Wednesday, has given time to Madiga MLAs to discuss granting Cabinet slots for Madiga MLAs while expanding the Cabinet.
It is learnt that Madiga MLAs, Government Whip Adluri Laxman Kumar (Dharmapuri), Mandula Samuel (Thungathurthy), Vemula Veeresham (Nakrekal), Kavvampally Sathyanarayana (Mankondur), Kale Yadaiah (Chevella), and Thota Laxmi Kantha Rao (Jukkal) had a secret meeting on Tuesday in Hyderabad on how to pressure the party to get a place in the Cabinet.
It is learnt that Madiga MLAs spoke to AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan over the phone and informed their demands, particularly a place in the proposed Cabinet expansion, to her. However, Meenakshi told them to meet her on Wednesday to discuss the issue.
It is learnt that Madiga MLAs have decided to go to New Delhi on Wednesday or Thursday depending upon the outcome of the discussion with Meenakshi, to meet AICC chief Mallikarjuna Kharge and the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, to demand a place in the Cabinet.
They decided to explain to Kharge and Rahul that the Madiga community is a huge one in Telangana, and that it has been sailing with the Congress from the beginning.
It is learnt that Madiga MLAs have expressed happiness at the secret meeting towards the Congress for executing SC Reservations Categorisation and decided to appeal to the party high command to give an appropriate place to Madiga MLAs while expanding the cabinet.
It may be recalled that the Congress high command asked TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to come to New Delhi on May 30 to finalise the TPCC Executive Committee and cabinet expansion.
Keeping this in mind, Madiga MLAs decided to meet Kharge and Rahul to get a place in the Cabinet.
