Minister for Prohibition and Excise V Srinivas Goud has called upon people to turn out in large numbers to witness drone exhibition to be held at Mini Tank Bund here at 7 pm on July 23. In all, 450 drone cameras would be put up on display at the exhibition.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for central lighting works at Yedira crossroads at a cost of Rs 1.67 crore in the town on Saturday, the Minister observed that in the changed scenario of science and technology drones are being used for all kinds of works. Previously, their application was limited to overseas. However, nowadays they are being used even in Telangana.
A drone show was conducted in connection with the inaugural ceremony of the State secretariat. Similar show would be held in the town on July 23, he explained.
The drones can be used in agriculture, medical and health and surveillance sectors. To provide entertainment to the people of the town, a drone show has been arranged in the town. Such shows would be arranged in undivided 10 districts of Telangana, he said.
Earlier, kite festival used to be organised in the district with the participation of the representatives from 10-15 countries. However, currently a drone show is on the anvil. The show will screen tourist spots like KCR urban eco-park, Pillalamarri, Silparamam and other tourist places.
District Collector G Ravi Nayak, Revenue Additional Collector K Sitarama Rao, Municipal chairman KC Narsimhulu, MUDA chairman Ganji Venkanna, Rytu Bandhu district president Gopal Yadav and others took part in the event.
