Mahalakshmi Scheme TG govt gave Rs 2,000 cr to TGSRTC: Min Ponnam

Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar said that the government paid Rs 2,000 crore to the TGSRTC out of Rs 2,400 crore liable under the Mahalakshmi scheme.
While replying to Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao in the Assembly, Ponnam Prabhakar said, “Since January 9, when the Mahalakshmi scheme was launched, around 70 crore women have travelled in the State. We bought new buses after Congress came into power but did they buy new buses during the last 10 years?”
TGSRTC is getting out from the operation losses to profits. “We have given 21 PRC, due to which the government is spending Rs 35 crore more.” the Minister added.
“We have paid Rs 80 crore out of Rs 280 crore towards pending bonds to the corporation and will release the pending amount soon. These amounts have been pending since 2013. We have not used PF and CCS funds as the previous government did. Your (BRS) government used Rs 4,000 crore belonging to the employees of the corporation. But we are paying Rs 300 crore to the corporation every month”, the Minister mentioned.  

Replying to Harish Rao, the Minister said, “It is true that work on employees’ is overloaded, but we are paying those who work even after 8 hours. Occupancy ratio of buses increased to 95 per cent.”

Two new routes in cityTelangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) will introduce two new routes in the city from Thursday. One of the routes is between Ghatkesar and Kondapur bearing 282 K route number. This route touches Yamnampet, Rampally X Roads, Nagaram, Kushaiguda, Lalapet, Tarnaka, Shankarmutt, Narayanaguda, Masab Tank, Mehdipatnam, Nanal Nagar, Gachibowli, Biodiversity, IKEA and HYTEC City. The first bus from the Ghatkesar starts at 6.10 am and the last bus at 3.45 pm. From Kondapur, the first bus starts at 8.40 am.
Another route is between Aramghar to Kondapur bearing 215 route number. This route touches Dairy farm, Hyderguda, Jyothi Nagar, Darga, Khajaguda X Roads, IKEA, HYTEC City and Kothaguda X Roads. The first bus from Aramghar starts at 7.20 am and the last bus at 9.15 pm.  From Kondapur, the first bus is at 8.30 am and the last bus is at 10.25 pm daily.
Along with that 10 electric AC metro luxury buses would be run between Patancheru to Dilsukhnagar (217 D) bus depots. These buses would ply with a frequency of 22 minutes between the stops.
