Mahatma’s grandson to participate in Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi on Jan11

Mahatma Gandhi’s grandson Tushar Gandhi will be visiting Achampet in the district on the January 11, according to Shivarchak Vijay Kumar, retired professor and convener of the Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi in Mahabubnagar district.
Tushar Gandhi will participate in the conclusion of the ‘Bapu Baato Mein Satyashodhan’ walk, which is part of a 1,000-km foot journey organised by the Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi and Gandhi-King Foundation. This walk will have completed 100 days by the time it reaches Achampet. Dr Shivarchak Vijay Kumar mentioned that Tushar Gandhi, the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi, would attend the event.
The “Bapu Satyashodhan Yatra” started from the Jogulamba Temple in Alampur on October 2 last year, and it was conducted for the welfare of future generations. Dr Vijay Kumar also emphasised that during this journey, various important issues were promoted, including supporting handloom products, fight against alcohol, drugs and narcotics use, encouraging traditional medicine, developing organic farming, promoting yoga, exercise, and proper nutrition for complete health, advocating for education with moral and spiritual values, protecting nature and biodiversity, enhancing work ethics, and building a society based on truth and non-violence.
