Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) official spokesperson Amjad Ullah Khan demanded that the government ban the Razakar film, which is produced by the BJP senior leader Gudur Narayana Reddy. It is yet to be released.
Khan alleged that the film is based on fictional stories concerning the merger of Hyderabad state into the Indian Union in 1948 to create hatred between the Hindus and Muslims.
Amjad Khan alleged that the film Razakar was produced under the aegis of the BJP for the sake of Telangana Assembly elections.
Razakar is a film with distorted history and produced with assumptions and it was intended to provoke hatred among the people.
He alleged that Gudur Narayana Reddy joined the BJP from the Congress party while facing allegations that he misused the funds during the 2018 Assembly elections.
Amjad Khan said that Razakar was an Urdu word and it meant ‘voluntarily’.
He said that the people came out voluntarily to serve patients during the plague endemic. However, conservative historians linked the word Razakars to the private army that had links with MIM.
Amjad Khan alleged that the BJP leaders did not know the history and the Urdu language.
Rashtriya Swayam Sevak meant in Urdu Razakars Sangam and English volunteer.
He alleged that the BJP leaders had been trying to win the Assembly elections and as part of it they were producing Razakar film.
He said that the BJP leaders were trying to produce the film with the incidents that took place 75 years ago.
He urged the Censor Board not to permit the release of the Razakar film. He demanded that the government o ban the film.
