Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed the officials to transform Andhra Pradesh into a startup hub and prepare comprehensive plans in this regard.
During a review on IT, Electronics-Communications and RTGS departments held at the Secretariat on Wednesday, the CM suggested taking steps to make the State a leader in the field of IT and electronics in the country. He said various IT companies are showing interest in expanding to second tier cities, and efforts should be made to bring IT companies to the State. He said that with the cooperation of Visakhapatnam IIM, Tirupati IIT and other educational institutions, efforts should be made to identify the startups that are following the best practices across the country and bring them to the State. He directed to identify a suitable area for setting up drone technology and testing parks. An app is to be developed to provide various types of services required for the citizens. He said that Tata company has already created a special app in this regard and is providing better services to some extent.
CM Chandrababu Naidu said that SRM is planning to set up an artificial intelligence university and Reliance is planning to set up an artificial-data central university. He said that there is a need to establish a separate department for cyber security in the State.
Minister for Human Resources, IT Electronics and Communications and RTGS Nara Lokesh said that appropriate measures are being taken to promote the IT sector in the State in all ways. He said that steps are being taken to streamline people’s problems under the artificial intelligence system. A comprehensive plan will be prepared on the issues to be taken up for better development in the IT-electronics sector. Additional Secretary Karthikeya Mishra, AP Fibernet MD Dinesh Kumar and other officials attended the meeting.
