Khammam District Congress Committee president Durga Prasad has said that elaborate arrangements have been made for Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s visit to the district. The Chief Minister will address a public meeting in Wyra on August 15. He will announce the third phase of crop loan waiver programme. The farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh would be waived during the third phase.
Disclosing this to media on Tuesday, he appealed to the party rank and file to make the CM’s public meeting a grand success. The Government of Telangana has earmarked Rs 31,000 crore to extend the loan waiver benefit to 32.50 lakh farmers.
In the first phase, Revanth Reddy released Rs 6034.97 crore to benefit 11,14,412 farmers. Under the second phase, Rs 6190.01 crore has been released to benefit 6,40,823 farmers. On August 15, the crop loans of the remainder of the farmers who availed crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh would be waived.
Telangana Government Warehousing Corporation Chairman Rayala Nageswara Rao, former legislative council member Potla Nageswara Rao, Balasani Lakshminarayana, district Mahila Congress chairperson D Saujanya and other leaders were present.
