State Planning Board Vice Chairman and MLA Malladi Vishnu declared that the pages of history will mark the year 2023 as Abhivrudhi Nama Samavatsram, translating to the “Year of Development” for the Central Constituency. The inauguration of development works, amounting to Rs 2.60 crore, took place on Sunday, led by Malladi Vishnu, alongside Deputy Mayor Sreesailaja Reddy, YCP corporators Isarapu Devi, Samman Rama Devi, Modugula Thirupathamma, and other dignitaries.
During the ceremony, the MLA highlighted the transformative developments achieved in the Central constituency over the past four and a half years under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Expressing his joy at the unprecedented progress, Malladi Vishnu particularly emphasized the significant advancements in road construction. Notable projects include the Rs 99.65 lakh road in New Rajarajeswari Peta, Rs 70 lakh investment in new roads in Nandamuri Nagar, Rs 34.07 lakh for Electricity Colony, and Rs 19.97 lakh for Visalandhra Colony, all inaugurated on the same day.
Furthermore, a groundbreaking ceremony marked the commencement of Rs 36.45 lakh BT road construction, and the improvement of the drinking water pipeline system at Thotavari Street, funded at Rs 17 lakhs.
Malladi Vishnu took pride in disclosing that the government has prioritized neglected areas, witnessing a dearth of development for many years under the previous administration.
He emphasized that the current administration has focused on crucial aspects such as roads, drainage, drinking water systems, urban health centres, parks, community halls, railway underbridges (RUBs), railway overbridges (ROBs), and electricity substations. The constituency is actively engaged in ongoing development programs, making it apt to designate this year as a pivotal period for both welfare and progress, asserted the MLA.
