In a shocking incident, a man buried the body of his friend who died under suspicious circumstances in Proddatur.
According to Circle Inspector Raja Redy, the deceased, Satish (40), had reportedly quarreled with his family members a month ago and had left home.
He sought refuge at his friend Kishore’s residence, situated in Eswar Reddy Nagar, Proddatur town, where he stayed.
Tragically, the next day, Kishore discovered Satish’s body in his house. Overwhelmed by fear and uncertainty, Kishore made a hasty and irrational decision to bury his friend’s body on the premises.
The incident came to light when Kishore’s mother returned from Hyderabad on Sunday and noticed an unpleasant odour emanating from their house. On inquiring about it, Kishore revealed the grim truth to his mother, admitting that Satish had passed away in their house a month ago, and he had buried the body out of fear and panic. Disturbed by this revelation, the neighbours alerted the police.
Upon receiving the information, CI Rajareddy visited the residence and took necessary actions, registering a case in connection with the incident. The body was subsequently exhumed and transferred to the GGH (Government General Hospital) for a thorough postmortem examination.
Kishore, in his statement to the police, asserted that Satish had died suddenly while at his house, and in a state of panic, he resorted to burying the body to avoid potential legal complications.
As investigations continue, the police are looking into the circumstances surrounding Satish’s death to ascertain the actual cause and whether any foul play was involved.
