A man allegedly killed his 60-year-old father-in-law at Polkampall under Pe3dda Adisherlapally mandal on Sunday.
The son-in-law, identified as B Narayana, attacked Jakkali Maraiah, a shepherd, as the latter refused to transfer his agricultural land to the latter.
According to police, Narayana (35) attacked the shepherd with a knife and pounded him with a rock. The shepherd died on the spot. Mariah gave two acres of land to his son-in-law as dowry. The accused married Maraiah’s daughter 10 years ago.
Narayana, however, demanded additional dowry and asked his father-in-law to transfer two acres of land to his name.
Narayan reportedly surrendered to the police.
