A 27-year-old Chiguru Soundarya was allegedly murdered by her husband Ganesh in the early hours of Monday at Odipilavanch village under Katram mandal in the district. The husband attacked her pestle and killed her, the police said.
Soundarya was married to Ganesh six years ago and they had a five-year-old son and three-year-old daughter. It was alleged that Ganeshi used to harass his wife for additional thought Soundarayya’s parents gifted Rs 5 lakh and 10 totals of gold at the time of marriage. Soudarya’s parents gave him Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1.50 lakh in two instalments, but Ganesh continued to harass his wife.
Ganesh, the police said, tried to pass off the murder as an accident by claiming that she had fallen on a boulder and was fatally injured.
The police, however, pieced together the evidence and arrested Ganesh.
