A man suffocated his wife to death with a pillow at Mirudoddin in the early hours of Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as 23-year-old Pusa Bhavani. The accused was identified as 26-year-old Kanakaraju. They had been married for one year.
However, the young couple had differences within months after their marriage. They allegedly used to fight with each other as differences arose between them within one month of marriage.
According to police, Kanakaraju smothered his wife to death with a pillow in a fit of anger during an argument with her.
The relatives of Bhavani staged a protest in front of Kanakaraju’s house demanding his arrest. They alleged that Kanakaraju had been harassing his wife for a long time, demanding additional dowry.
The body was shifted to Government Hospital for post-mortem.
