There are many credible leaders in the Congress who can become the Chief Minister, YSRTP President YS Sharmila said.
She said that former TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka are eligible to become the CM. Blackmailers should not become the CM, she said. Congress leaders and the high command will decide the CM, she added.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Sharmila said that she wants the exit poll results to become the pulse of the people of Telangana and that she wants the corrupt, dictatorial rule of KCR to end on Sunday. Sharmila said that KCR must obey the people’s verdict without any gimmicks. She appealed to KCR not to try to purchase MLAs and not to do backdoor politics and demanded that KCR should accept the results like a referendum.
“KCR is an inefficient CM who failed to fulfil the promises given to the people in the last 10 years. This Sunday has become another liberation day for Telangana. I have fought against KCR’s corruption since the YSRTP’s inception. However, we withdrew from the elections to ensure that the anti-incumbency vote does not get split. I know that my decision could be political suicide but still we supported the Congress for the sake of the people. We did not get an opportunity to hit KCR but we extended our full-fledged support to the Congress.
My party leaders revolted against me when I supported the Congress but I bore it. How can people who joined YSRTP complaining against KCR’s rule go back to KCR? Those leaders would be mortgaging their self-respect. The time has come for KCR to pack up. I am giving him a gift at last. I am sending a suitcase in the name of the Telangana people to KCR saying ‘Bye Bye KCR,” Sharmila added.
