Extensive traffic management arrangements are in place at the famous hill shrine of Srisailam for Maha Shivaratri on February 26.
Additional SP M. Yugandhar Babu said on Sunday that over 800 police personnel will be deployed to regulate traffic from the Srisailam temple to key locations, including Sakshi Ganapathi, Hatakeswaram, and Ramaiah Turning tollgate centres. Traffic control measures will also be enforced at Sunnipenta, Lingalagattu, and the Telangana border to prevent congestion.
To ensure smooth traffic flow from the Srisailam peak point to surrounding areas and the Telangana border, authorities are deploying eight Rakshak vehicles, around 20 Blue Coat vehicles, and 40 police personnel for round-the-clock patrolling. Additionally, eight drone cameras will monitor traffic movement and help prevent untoward incidents. Police pickets will also be set up at key intersections.
As the route from Dornala to Srisailam passes through ghat roads, devotees are advised to bring experienced drivers. Heavy goods vehicles will not be allowed towards Srisailam.
Dedicated parking spaces for buses and other vehicles arriving from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka have been arranged at the Outer Ring Road, Yagnasela, and other designated areas. Pilgrims are urged to use these facilities and avoid parking on roadsides, the Additional SP stated.
