Mayor, Dy. Mayor, 8 corporators quit YSRCP, join TDP

The YSRCP has suffered a major blow in Prakasam district as the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, along with 8 Corporators quit the YSRCP and joined the ruling TDP on Wednesday.
City Mayor Gangada Sujata, Deputy Mayor Vemuri Bujji and 8 Corporators quit the YSRCP and Joined the TDP. As many as 12 YSRCP corporators have already joined the TDP.
Ongole TDP MLA Damacharla Janardhan admitted the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and other  corporators into the TDP by wrapping the TDP scarves. The TDP has six Corporators in the municipal corporation. With the joining of 22 YSRCP corporators, the TDP strength in the municipal corporation has gone up to 28. Sources said that 10 more YSRCP corporators are likely to join the TDP soon.
After they joined the TDP, they would meet Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, TDP sources said.
Meanwhile, Mayor Gangada Sujata is a close associate of YSRCP senior leader Balineni Srinivasa Reddy.
