A key multi-stakeholder meeting was held under the leadership of Ajay Jain, Special Chief Secretary, Housing, at the Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation Limited (APSHCL) office in Vijayawada on Wednesday. The consultation was organised in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity India with the primary objective of reinforcing the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in Andhra Pradesh.

The meeting brought together sector experts and representatives from Housing Finance Corporations (HFCs), Small Finance Banks, selected implementing Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and local officials. The discussions focused on understanding the status of various housing projects in the State, identifying challenges and preparing a comprehensive roadmap for the next two-three years.

The housing initiative is part of the State’s broader vision for “Zero Poverty,” aiming to complete 7.32 lakh pending houses under PMAY 1.0 by March 2026. Additional plans include skill training for masons and integration with PM Surya Ghar to promote energy-efficient housing solutions.
