NTR District Police Commissioner SV Rajasekhar Babu inaugurated a free Mega Medical Camp in Vijayawada on Monday, organised by the Suraksha Committee to support the health and well-being of women police personnel. The camp, held in collaboration with Top Star Multi-Speciality Hospital, aimed to provide comprehensive medical checkups and treatment for women officers, who often neglect their health due to the demands of their profession.

Medical experts from the Top Star Multi-Speciality Hospital located in Kanuru near Vijayawada conducted 10 different screening tests, including those for cervical cancer, breast cancer, and other health issues, and distributed necessary medications to those in need.

Addressing the gathering, Commissioner Rajasekhar Babu acknowledged the immense contributions of women police personnel, noting that they often perform their duties under challenging circumstances while simultaneously managing family responsibilities. “Women officers serve round the clock, 365 days a year, and yet rarely get the time to care for their own health,” he said, expressing gratitude to Top Star Multi-Speciality Hospital for their valuable service.

The initiative was held under the guidance of NTR District Suraksha Committee Convener KV Narasaiah, who emphasised the committee’s ongoing efforts to promote the safety and well-being of both the public and the police force. “This medical camp is a significant step in that direction,” he said. Narasaiah also mentioned that the Suraksha Committee has installed over 3,000 CCTV cameras across the city to strengthen public safety and now aims to ensure the health of those who protect it.

DCP KGV Saritha, Trainee IPS Officer Manisha, North Zone ACP Sravanthi Roy, Top Star Hospital MD Dr. Tatineni Srinivas, hospital staff, and over 200 women police personnel were present.
