‘MES engineer makes hoax bomb call’

A senior engineer working for the Military Engineering Services in Chennai made a hoax call to phone number 100 that there is a bomb in the flight which took off to Chennai from Hyderabad.

The Shamshabad police said as he was late and the airport supervisor refused him entry he threatened to stop the flight.

Inspector R. Srinivas of RGI Airport said, “This is a case registered at 10:30 am. The passenger, Bhadru Naik Ajmeera, a Superintendent Engineer working with the Military Engineering Services at Chennai, came to the airport late. He requested officials to open the gates but was refused by the supervisor twice. Then he threatened that he would stop the flight.”

The person called Dial 100 and said that there is a bomb in the flight which departs from Hyderabad airport for Chennai. The police communicated the info to airport officials and they immediately checked the flight and concluded that this person might have made the call as he was refused entry.

The police received a complaint from Indigo Airlines and are investigating the case. The case was registered under Section 506 against the alleged culprit.
