Metro services along the LB Nagar-Miyapur route encountered significant disruption on Wednesday evening, leaving commuters stranded and inconvenienced due to a technical glitch.
The malfunction caused the suspension of operations for three metro trains, leading to overcrowding at stations and within carriages for several hours. Passengers faced delays and inconvenience as they waited for services to resume.
In an update provided by L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Ltd., it was revealed that the disruption was attributed to the tripping of an incoming TRANSCO feeder at the MGBS station. This unforeseen technical issue prompted an immediate response from the metro authorities.
Efforts to rectify the problem were swift, with engineers managing to resolve the issue within a span of just 7 minutes. An alternative feeder at Miyapur was swiftly connected, allowing for the resumption of normal train services shortly after the glitch was addressed.
As per LTHMRL “Hyderabad Metro Rail services were briefly affected this evening due to the tripping of an incoming TRANSCO feeder at the MGBS. The issue was resolved within 7 minutes, as an alternative feeder at Miyapur was connected and train services resumed normal operations shortly thereafter. Inconvenience caused is regretted.”
While the interruption caused inconvenience to commuters during the evening rush hour, authorities have expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and assured passengers that measures are in place to prevent such occurrences in the future
