Minister for Tourism Kandula Durgesh reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to implement welfare schemes, as promised efficiently, and announced that the free bus travel scheme for women would be launched from Ugadi. Minister Kandula Durgesh took part in Tuesday’s NTR Bharosa social security pension distribution programme at Pasalapudi village in Undrajavaram mandal. He visited each house in the town to distribute pensions to the beneficiaries, including differently-abled individuals.
During his visit, the Minister interacted with several beneficiaries to ensure they were receiving the benefits of welfare schemes. The recipients expressed their satisfaction with the timely benefits and thanked him for his support.
The beneficiaries of the social security pension expressed their happiness at receiving the pension a day earlier than expected. They assured the Minister of their full support to the government and its officials.
In his address, the Minister emphasised the Government’s determination to implement welfare schemes despite financial challenges. He recalled that, upon assuming office, the Government had increased the social security pension from Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000 and disbursed the pending arrears.
He added that the pensions were being distributed on December 31, ahead of the New Year, bringing joy to lakhs of social security pensioners across the state, who were receiving their pensions at their doorsteps early in the morning.
“The Coalition Government is fulfilling its promises to the people. We have increased social security pensions, launched the free gas cylinder scheme (Deepam-2), ensured payment for paddy purchased from farmers within 24 hours, and will launch the free bus service for women from the Telugu New Year, Ugadi,” Minister Kandula Durgesh stated.
In a sharp criticism of the previous YSRCP government, the Minister accused the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led administration of depleting the state’s finances and mismanaging key sectors. During the programme, the Tourism Minister also unveiled the New Year calendar of Annavarappadu Sri Venkateswara Swamy and extended his New Year greetings to all.
Mandal Special Officer M. Sandeep, In-Charge MRO A. Kanaka Durga, MPDO V.V. Rama Rao, and leaders from BJP, JSP, and TDP accompanied the Minister during the event.
