Minister for Tourism and Sports Development Kandula Durgesh felicitated badminton player Karri Sai Pawan on Thursday for winning a bronze medal at the 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand. Sai Pawan, a native of Rajahmundry, secured the medal in the men’s doubles category.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Durgesh lauded Sai Pawan for his achievement, stating that his success at the prestigious National Games, held from January 28 to February 14 at the International Sports Complex, Haldwani, Dehradun, was a proud moment for Andhra Pradesh. He encouraged budding players to draw inspiration from him.
Sai Pawan, accompanied by his father Karri Nageswara Rao, met the Minister at his office and displayed his medal. Minister Durgesh praised the young athlete for bringing laurels to East Godavari district and assured the government’s support for aspiring sportspersons.
