Minister Gottipaticondemns ‘misleading’ campaign on free power supply

Minister for Energy Gottipati Ravi Kumar strongly criticised the Opposition YSRCP for allegedly launching a misleading campaign against the government’s free power supply initiatives for farmers and SC/ST communities.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, the Minister accused the YSRCP leaders of using their media outlet, Sakshi, to propagate false claims that the government intends to discontinue free power supply to these groups.
“During his five-year tenure, Jagan Mohan Reddy ruined the power sector. However, our Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has taken significant steps to revive it. We are now providing uninterrupted, nine-hour quality power for agricultural purposes. Unable to accept this progress, the YSRCP is spreading false stories through their media,” the Minister said. He alleged that the YSRCP is attempting to disrupt the supply of quality electricity to farmers and SC/ST families by spreading false propaganda.
Minister Gottipati announced that the Suryagarh Scheme, currently being implemented experimentally in the Kuppam constituency, would soon be expanded across the state. Under this scheme, solar panels are being installed free of cost for SC and ST families. The Minister questioned the YSRCP’s objections to the government’s efforts, including the Suryagarh and PM Kusum schemes, which aim to provide quality electricity without imposing additional burdens on the beneficiaries.
He further stated that the damage caused to the power sector during Jagan Mohan Reddy’s regime had been reported to the Central authorities.

He reiterated that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is committed to implementing revolutionary changes to foster development in the state and the country.
Minister Gottipati noted that schemes neglected by the previous YSRCP government are now being effectively implemented by the coalition government with the Central Government’s support.
