Minister for Water Resources Development Nimmala Ramanaidu has handed over financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to some beneficiaries.
The Minster handed over the cheques of the financial assistance worth Rs 8.20 lakh to the beneficiaries in Palakollu on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu lauded Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu stating that he is extending financial assistance from the CMRF with a human face keeping in view the problems of the poor.
The Minister highlighted that the paddy produce purchase from the farmers is in full swing and the payment is being made for the procured paddy within 24 hours. “The farmers are buoyant at the manner in which their paddy produce is being purchased expeditiously and the manner in which the payment is made to them. The farmers now feel the Sankranti festival has come in advance,” the Minister claimed.
The farmers were given the option of selling their paddy produce to rice mills on their wish. The Naidu headed Government had cleared Rs 1,674 crore dues to the farmers for their paddy produce as the previous YSRCP did not pay the money. The Government, for the first time, provided e-crop facility to the tenant farmers in the State, he mentioned.
Taking a dig at the YSRCP leaders, Ramanaidu asserted that the Opposition leaders have no right to talk about the welfare of farmers. “The State achieved progress only in Ganja cultivation. Youth addicted to the Ganja during Jagan Reddy’s five years regime,” the Minister ridiculed.
Nimmala Ramanaidu announced that a 2K run would be organized in Palakollu on December 15 in the name of ‘Save the girl child’. He said that special programmes would be organized to eradicate the feticide. He described the girl child as the wealth of the nation.
He called upon all to come forward to protect the girl child. The Government had set up an eagle team especially to provide protection to the girl and massive steps were taken to check the drug menace, he acknowledged.
