Minister for Mines and Excise Kollu Ravindra assured to address the problems being faced by the napa raya quarry works and owners. The napa raya blackstone slabs are widely used for flooring of houses.
Minister for BC Welfare Janardhan Reddy met Minister for Mine Kollu Ravindra here on Tuesday, accompanied by Mine department Principal Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena, Director Pravin Kumar and owners of napa raya quarries, brought to his notice the problems being faced by the napa raya quarry workers and owners. He explained to him various issues and difficulties prevailing in the napa raya quarry industry in the State.
Minister Janarhan Reddy explained to Mining Minister Kollu Ravindra the problems being faced in the napa Raya mines located in Banaganapalle and surrounding areas. Minister Janardhan Reddy told the Excise Minister about the protests being organized by the napa raya quarry workers at Bandlapalli crossroads and urged him to take steps to resolve the issue.
He explained that the existing policy was badly affecting not only the mine owners but also the workers and underlined the need of taking immediate steps to resolve the crisis. The BC Welfare Minister submitted a representation to the Mines Minister in this regard.
Minister Kollu Ravindra responded positively and promised to take steps to resolve the problems of the napa raya quarry workers and owners. He also assured to take the issue to the notice of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
