Minister for BC, EWS and Handlooms S Savitha stated that the uplift of backward classes is possible only under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. She made these remarks on Wednesday when Nayi Brahmin Corporation Chairman Ruddra Koti Sadasivam called on her at her camp office in Tadepalli.
Sadasivam expressed his gratitude to CM Chandrababu, Minister Lokesh, and Minister Savitha for his appointment as Chairman of the Nayi Brahmin Corporation. He assured that he would uphold the trust placed in him and work towards party development while effectively implementing the government’s welfare programmes for the people.
Minister Savitha congratulated Ruddra Koti Sadasivam on his appointment and recalled the difficulties faced by the BC community during the previous government. She stated that the BCs suffered severely due to the lack of support from the previous government. She mentioned that the BC Corporation was rendered ineffective and its funds were misused, preventing BCs from receiving self-employment subsidy loans. She also criticised the discontinuation of schemes such as providing tools to those in traditional professions.
Savitha highlighted that between 2014 and 2019, the schemes initiated by the Chandrababu government for the welfare of BCs were annulled by the YSRCP administration. She praised the return of BC welfare programs with the re-election of Chandrababu Naidu, mentioning that the current State budget allocated Rs 39,000 crore for BC welfare.
