Minister for Water Resources Development Ramanaidu laid the foundation stone for the development works at Agartipalem and Agarru villages on Sunday. The development works would be carried out at a cost of R 1.13 crore.
The Minister announced that a protected drinking water project was being taken up at Agartipalem village at a cost of Rs 98 lakh and CC road would be constructed at a cost of Rs 30 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister highlighted that the Chandrababu-led government had implemented money schemes, announced DSC, and reopened Anna canteen to provide nutritious food to the poor at an affordable price. The Government had raised the input subsidy to Rs 25,000 per hectare to the farmers fulfilling the promise which was made in the elections, he reiterated.
“The NDA-led State government is spending Rs 4,500 crore to carry out various development works in rural areas to provide basic amenities and the works will be completed by Sankranthi festival. The Naidu-led government is committed to implementing all the assurances given to the people, and some of them, have already been fulfilled,” he acknowledged.
Taking a dig at the Opposition YSRCP, Minister Ramanaidu said that development backtracked during the five-year YSRCP regime and the government exchequer became empty forcing the then government to depend on borrowings. The village panchayats were deprived of their rights. The government snatched their funds and diverted them to other purposes, he criticised.
The Water Resources Minister found fault with Jagan Mohan Reddy for dragging his mother and sister to the court on property issues. Jagan Mohan Reddy has no right to be in democratic politics, he flayed. The man, who can not love his mother and sister, how he loves the people, he questioned.
The YSRCP leaders had indulged in massive scams during the five years regime including sand mining, liquor distribution, and mines and grabbing of lands and siphoned over Rs 8 lakh crore, he lambasted. The coalition government had inherited Rs 14 lakh crore debts, he lamented. Tahasildar Y Durga Kishore, MPDO Umamaheshwara Rao, Housing PD Trimurthlu and Housing AE Srinivas were among those who attended the programme.
Meanwhile, Minister Ramanaidu handed over financial assistance of Rs 3.20 lakh to 11 people under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund at Palakollu. Speaking on the occasion, he observed that the NDA-led State government extended financial assistance to poor patients for the treatment.
