Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will be visiting the Polavaram project, being constructed across the river Godavari at Polavaram village in Eluru district, on Monday.
Minister for Water Resources Development Nimmala Rama Naidu reviewed the arrangements for the Chief Minister’s Polavaram project visit with the police and revenue officials here on Sunday.
The Minister directed the Joint Collector B Lavanya Veni, SP D Mary Prashanthi, ITDA project officer M Surya Teja and irrigation officials to complete all arrangements expeditiously for the Chief Minister’s Polavaram project visit. He directed them to make foolproof arrangements for the Chief Minister’s visit to the Polavaram project.
“The Chief Minister will inspect the entire project. The engineers concerned should explain the progress of the project to the Chief Minister at the project. Later the Chief Minister will review the progress of the project with the engineers and officials,” the Minister stated.
Taking a dig at the YSRCP regime and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Minister Rama Naidu alleged that the project works had come to a standstill after the YSRCP came to power.  The YSRCP’s ‘J’ gang plundered 40% of Polavaram’s funds, he slammed.
The TDP regime is giving priority to the Polavaram project and it is committed to complete the project at the earliest, he made it clear.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police D Mary Prashanthi, accompanied by Joint Collector B Lavanya Veni inspected the security arrangements being made for the Chief Minister’s visit at the Polavaram project. She reviewed the security arrangements with Polavaram DSP Suresh Kumar Reddy, SB Inspector Malleswara Rao and CI Madhubabu.
According to the officials, the Chief Minister will arrive at the Polavaram project by helicopter at around 10 am on Monday.
He will inspect the guide bund, Spillway block 26, powerhouse, DSCD Ch 1600, and DSCD 700, review works with LA R&R officials and hold a press conference at around 4:50 pm at Polavaram.
