Andhra Pradesh State Transport and Sports Minister, Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, has urged bus owners to play an active role in preventing the rising number of road accidents in the state. Addressing a gathering of the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Private Travels Association in Vijayawada, the Minister emphasized the vital responsibility of bus operators in ensuring road safety.
Speaking at the event, hosted by the association’s president Sambi Reddy, Minister Ramprasad shared his personal experience of losing his father in a road accident. He stressed the emotional and financial toll that accidents take on families and urged bus operators to prioritize safer travel practices.
The Minister also announced an upcoming joint initiative by the Home, Health, and Transport departments aimed at reducing accidents. He assured the audience that issues with the Transport Department’s software are being addressed and promised efforts to reduce taxes to ease the financial burden on bus operators. He encouraged them to reach out to him directly with concerns and praised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s government for its responsiveness to the needs of the industry.
Telangana State Association President Sunil Reddy also spoke at the event, acknowledging the supportive environment for bus operators under TDP leadership. Andhra Pradesh Association President Kiran Kumar urged members to comply with government regulations and collaborate on safety initiatives.
The event provided a platform for discussing key industry issues while reinforcing the commitment to road safety and partnership with government efforts.
