In light of the recent series of earthquakes in the Darsi constituency of Prakasam district, Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar and Social Welfare Minister Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy have taken proactive steps to address public concerns. The Ministers have directed the Prakasam District Collector to conduct a detailed investigation into the recurring seismic activity reported over the past two days.
Stressing the importance of identifying the root causes of these tremors, the Ministers instructed the Collector to collaborate with the Disaster Management Department and engage with scientists from the National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI). The aim is to pinpoint the epicentre and understand the reasons behind the frequent earthquakes. The Ministers also requested a comprehensive report on the seismic events, highlighting the necessity for scientific analysis and precautionary measures to ensure public safety. They assured residents that the government is committed to mitigating risks and safeguarding the community. “We urge the people of Prakasam district to remain calm and resilient during this period. The government is actively monitoring the situation and working with experts to provide clarity and solutions,” said Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar. Minister Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy added, “We are dedicated to addressing the concerns of the public and ensuring their safety. Together, we will overcome this challenge.” The state government reiterated its commitment to prioritising the well-being of affected communities and promised to provide timely updates as more information emerges.
