Minors found driving vehicles will be prosecuted: ACP

Traffic ACP Srinivasulu has expressed concern over minors getting caught driving vehicles on roads and advised them against driving the vehicles on roads.
 He conducted an awareness programme for students of Harvest School on Motor Vehicles’ Act. The ACP expressed concern over a large number of minors getting caught by the police driving rashly during extensive police checking. City police commissioner Sunil Dutt ordered extensive checkings in the city in view of increasing road accidents.
The ACP noted with concern that minors are getting involved in accidents driving motor cycles and cars. The traffic police took it seriously and conducted checking daily. Earlier, when minors caught red-handed, the police used to impose fine on them and used to be released after counselling their parents. From now onwards, the minors would be presented in court along with their parents for rash driving. The court will impose them either fine or punishment. Therefore, he asked minors not to drive vehicles.
The police department has been conducting awareness programmes for minors on driving and on traffic rules and conducting road safety classes for students. The police department has been striving hard to sensitise the students on traffic rules from the student stage itself, he said.
Traffic CI Mohan Babu, RI Sambasiva Rao, SIs Ravi, Venkanna and Sagar took part in the event.
