MLA calls for action against South Glass Industry management

Shadnagar MLA Veerlapalli Shankar has expressed serious concern over the negligence and outdated practices at the South Glass Industry that led to loss of life.  
On Saturday, MLA Shankar visited factory to gather detailed information from the workers. He expressed his indignation over the negligence of the industrial owners and the outdated machinery that led to the tragedy. During his visit, Shankar ordered the provision of immediate help to workers, who had been left without food.
At a media conference, MLA Shankar announced that he had spoken to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, securing a compensation of Rs 25 lakhs to the families of the deceased workers. He also assured better medical services for the injured, stating that the industry management should bear the medical expenses. Shankar emphasized that the government would step in if the management failed to comply.
The MLA criticised the industrial owners for their repeated negligence and disregard for worker safety. He demanded a comprehensive investigation and strict action against the industry management. He highlighted that the central government’s new labor laws have benefitted industrial owners at the expense of worker safety, leading to poor implementation of labor laws in many industries.
Addressing the Director of Factories Rajagopal Rao, Shankar urged immediate action to improve safety measures in the industry. Rao promised to visit the industries and assess the conditions. Shankar also visited the injured victims at Viva Private Hospital, ensuring that they receive adequate medical services without any cost to them.
Shankar expressed his anger at the management of the factor for not allowing reporters to visit the scene of the accident. over the ban on media from the incident site, stressing the importance of transparency and accountability. He took the industry owner Shailesh Aggarwal to taks for fleeing the scene and neglecting the welfare of the workers. Shankar demanded immediate police action against Aggarwal and called for strict measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
Shankar’s intervention highlighted the urgent need for better safety standards and accountability in industries. His actions and demands aim to ensure that such tragedies are not repeated and that worker rights and safety are prioritized.
