In a bid to promote camaraderie among students, Shadnagar MLA Veerlapalli Shankar announced that the government would provide free uniform to students. On Monday, Shankar distributed the first batch of 9,000 uniforms to students in Farooqnagar mandal at the Dwakra building in Shadnagar town.
He explained that Farooqnagar mandal requires a total of 18,000 uniforms and 9,000 uniforms were distributed in the first phase. He said the uniform distribution would cover 25 schools in urban areas and 73 in rural areas. The uniforms for rural schools are being sewn by Dwakra women, while Mepma clothes are being sold in urban areas.
The programme, directed by Mandal Education Officer Shankar Rathore, was held at the local Mandal Mahila Samakhya office with MLA Veerlapalli Shankar as the chief guest. The event saw participation from principals of various schools, including Rangampally, Lalsingh Tanda, Peerlaguda, Karnamkunta Tanda, Giraigutta Tanda, Kadiyalakunta Tanda, Chinna Chilkamarri, Ranga Samudra, and Peerlaguda. Senior Congress leaders Chendi Tirupati Reddy and others also attended the program, alongside officials and community members.
