District Collector Hari Chandana Dasari has called upon the eligible graduates living in Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduates’ constituency to register their names in the list of voters for the MLC elections.
Addressing the media at the Collectorate here on Saturday, she said that the voters’ list for the constituency would be prepared afresh. Those who registered as voters in the last elections should also register as voters afresh.
Only those who have graduated from a university as on November 1, 2020 should register as voters and they should be living in the jurisdiction of the MLC constituency. They can register directly in the office of the RDO or Tahsildar or through www.ceotelangana.nic.in portal. The requests for registering as voters would be entertained till Feb 6. The draft voters’ list would be out by February 24.
Objections, if any, to the draft voters’ rolls would be entertained from Feb 24 to March 14. They would be subjected to scrutiny till March 29. The final list of voters would be published on April 4, she elaborated.
So far, as many as 12,832 have applied to register as voters from Nalgonda district. Further, she put the total number of applications received from graduates seeking to register as voters from the three districts at 77,579.
As part of a special summary revision of voters’ list for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, all those who have crossed the age of 18 years should apply before Jan 22 to register as a new voter. A special campaign to register new voters is being held at all polling booths on Jan 20 and 21. She said that the BLOs would remain accessible to entertain the requests to register as new voters and appealed to young voters to make good use of the facility. The final list of voters would be ready on February 8 after disposing of all the applications received to register as voters.
Later, she inspected the polling booth No.116 and 117 setup at Pragati Junior College and Polling Booth No.115 at Kakatiya Degree College as part of the special campaign to register new voters underway in the district.
