Telangana has been sanctioned a record budget allocation of Rs 5,337 crore for 2025-26. Vaishnaw said that this figure represents nearly a six-fold increase compared to the average annual allocation of Rs 886 crore received by the combined Andhra Pradesh state during 2009-14.

Responding to a question on pending dues by Telangana Government for MMTS, Arun Kumar Jain, the General Manager of South Central Railway, said that until now they have not received any funds from the Telangana Government and that pending dues for MMTS is Rs 491 crore.
The Railway Minister said that Telangana’s railway network is now 100 per cent electrified. Telangana is also ahead in installing the Kavach system, with the Centre of Excellence for Kavach located in Secunderabad.
Currently, 1,465 km of Kavach has been commissioned across the South Central Railway (SCR) jurisdiction, and trials for the latest version 4.0 are underway. The target is to deploy Kavach throughout the entire railway network within the next six years.
Five Vande Bharat trains are already operating in Telangana, serving seven districts with nine scheduled stops. The redevelopment of 40 railway stations in the state has been initiated under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Approval has been granted for procuring 50 new Namo Bharat trains, 200 Vande Bharat trains and 100 new Amrit Bharat trains. Their launch dates would be announced in due course, he said.
The Railways has embarked on an extensive project to replace 7,000 km of old tracks. Upgrades will enable trains to run at speeds of up to 160 kmph on key routes, while other sections will support speeds of 130 kmph and the remaining network at 100 kmph.
